New Book "The Authorized Roy Orbison"As told by Roy's Boys!

For the first time, legendary performer Roy Orbison's story as one of the most beloved rock legends will be revealed through family accounts and records. Roy Orbison is a rock and roll icon almost without peer. He is known to the world for hits like “Blue Bayou,” “You Got It,” and “Oh, Pretty Woman.” Despite these and countless other accolades—honored member of the Rock & Roll and Songwriters Halls of Fame, winner of multiple GRAMMY® awards, and recipient of the Musicians Hall of Fame’s inaugural Iconic Riff Award—Roy Orbison was just a boy from West Texas who was drawn to the guitar at the age of six. He lost his first wife in a motorcycle accident and also his two oldest sons in a fire. His career touched four decades and ended abruptly at perhaps its highest peak, when he passed away at the age of fifty-two on December 6, 1988. Still, the true story of Roy Orbison, the man, is essentially unknown to millions of fans around the world. Now, for the first time ever, the Orbison Estate, headed by Roy's sons, Wesley, Roy Jr., and Alex Orbison. Roy's Boys—has set out to set the record straight: “To the world, Roy Orbison was a legend, but to us he was simply dad. But even to us he was something more than just a father. Even in our small world, at home, we knew he was special.” Filled with over 300 photographs, many never-before-seen, gathered from across the globe and uncovered from deep within the Orbison Vault, The Authorized Roy Orbison (Oct. 17, 2017) shows Orbison as a young child and follows him all the way through to the peak of his stardom, and tragic end. Roy's Boys-have left no stone unturned in order to illustrate the people, places, things, and events that forged their father, the man behind those famous sunglasses.

American Valhalla,THE STORY OF IGGY POP, JOSHUA HOMME, AND POST POP DEPRESSION

American Valhalla, co directed by Homme and Andreas Neumann tells the story of an unlikely musical collaboration between two mavericks of American rock: Joshua Homme, frontman of Queens of the Stone Age and Iggy Pop, the Godfather of Punk. The film, co-directed by Homme, follows the recording of Iggy’s final album ‘Post Pop Depression’ in the California desert, with his band comprising of Homme, his QOTSA bandmate Dean Fertita and Arctic Monkeys’ drummer, Matt Helders, as well as the explosive tour that builds to a crowning performance at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall. Featuring stunning cinematography and intimate access, American Valhalla reveals the growth of an intense bond between the musicians who have taken to heart the mantra: "you risk nothing you gain nothing. As we got to know each other, you blew my mind” Homme tells Pop in the film. “You really came with such an open mind and saying ‘Yeah, I know what I’ve done but I’m here to…look forward.’” As they prepared the tour to support the album, Iggy received news of the passing of David Bowie – his longtime friend and confidant. In these moments, Pop contemplates his own impermanence and, at his most vulnerable, pushes harder with carpe diem-resolve to rehearse and add the next great landmark to his legacy. http://www.americanvalhallamovie.com

Ali McManus ; Debut album "Unbreakable "Album Release February 16 2018.

Singer / songwriter / pianist / guitarist / inspirational speaker – 21-year-old Ali McManus is releasing her debut album Unbreakable on February 16 (Desert Dreams Books & Music), produced by the legendary Jack Douglas. An uplifting collection of personal songs, Unbreakable features distinctive vocals and honest, powerful lyrics that speak to McManus' place as a beacon for perseverance against adversity.  Entering the studio in 2017 with producer Jack Douglas to begin work on the album, McManus’ sound evolved. Her music traverses musical moods from the soaring strength-infused opening track “Unbreakable” to the elevating nature of “Rhythm That Rhymes.” The hopeful cadence of “Wings,” buoyed by gospel organs, leads to the emotional weight of “Heart Shattered.” Proving that an unstoppable spirit can topple all odds, McManus’ strong vocal delivery betrays her 30% lung capacity. But Ali’s story is one of compelling talent and an indomitable spirit. Ali’s velvety vocals are reminiscent of Stevie Nicks; her songwriting evokes a young Joni Mitchell or Jewel, with the timeless modern appeal of Sara Bareilles and Haim.Named Youth Ambassador for several charities, McManus donates her time giving back to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, the Children’s Miracle Network and Dick Wagner “Remember The Child” Memorial Fund. “I don’t see myself as a person in a wheelchair,” states Ali. “I see myself as a regular person who just happens to sit down all day.” With these words, she aims to connect with listeners, and hopes to inspire them with her story. Unbreakable is an open door to her soul, washing over the listener with her warmth and optimism. https://alimcmanus.com

Joe Ely , Music , Texas Sound and so much more!

From the moment he made his debut in the 1970s, Joe Ely has blended rock-and-roll sensibilities to hardcore honkytonk and become one of the most recognizible and respected artists to hail from the Lonestar state. Growing up on the vast and empty plains of West Texas, his legend was forged onstage with relentlessly riveting live performances, hammered out over thousands of shows and countless touring miles from Lubbock to London and back again the long way around. He is embraced as a kindred spirit by artists as diverse as Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and The Clash. Over his four-decade career, he’s been at the forefront of Outlaw Country, Alt-Country, Texas Country and Americana, and has been recognized as one of the best songwriters of his generation. Last year, Ely was given membership into the prestigious Texas Institute of Letters (with active members Cormac McCarthy and Larry McMurtry) as the first musician ever honored by the group. The invitation was the result of Ely’s second book, Reverb: An Odyssey. Also, Ely was recognized by the Texas Legislature as the Official 2016 Texas State Musician, a coveted honor given to only a few (past recipients include Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Dale Watson & Billy Joe Shaver). Additionally the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame recently announced Ely will be inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame, alongside such legends as Roy Orbison and J.D. Souther. “There’s no mistaking a Joe Ely album,” wrote noted Dallas Morning News critic Mario Tarradell. “His stinging, road-hued voice commands lyrics about life, love and the wandering spirit. When you listen to a CD like Satisfied At Last, you’re enjoying the essence of Joe Ely. That’s the essence of Texas Music.”

Holly Stephey & Nicky Blitz, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer!

Nicky Blitz.,Everything about him conjures a sense of panicked mystery. His songs will send you flashbacks of OUT OF CONTROL house parties and legendary prom nights. They’re as elegantly designed as a vintage suit and as liberating as ripping it off. Blitz's weapons of choice are propulsive beats and melodic hooks. His tunes are a blend of 50's jukebox rock'n'roll, '60s LA psych, the darkest '70s electro-pop and 90s grunge rawness. It’s the newest wave and it'll stalk your nightmares for weeks. The livewire behind it all is multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Nick Scapa. Scapa grew up in LA's San Fernando Valley, making beats in his teen years and aspiring to work with 50 Cent and The Neptunes. After Jay Z's former producer Aqua told him to buy an MPC sampler/drum machine, Blitz began landing placements for big pop stars. In the last few years he's written for Miley Cyrus (“Liberty Walk”) and Icona Pop (“Light Me Up”). With his production team 10K Islands - described as “The Brill Building meets Sub Pop” by the New York Times – he's also bagged licensing deals, scoring CNN and ESPN documentaries and advertisements for Honda and Windows among others.Nicky Blitz didn't set out to make commercial music, it just happened. He's psycho for creating and currently splits time between LA, New York, and his studio lair in Miami which has been used by everyone from Diplo and Pharrell to Skrillex and FKA Twigs. Festivals and promoters began booking Blitz due to his reputation for a provocative, unpredictable live show. His rise is inevitable, fuelled by a punk desire to turn nothing into something. There’s an inscrutable power and charisma about him, flashes of Elvis, Nick Cave, Jim Morrison, Talking Heads, Joy Division, the B-52s and LCD Soundsystem. What kind of a f***ingname is Nicky Blitz? It's just the beginning.?

MARCUS GOLDHABER ;”CARRY YOU ON “ New music & beautiful message to veterans!

The discussion hardly ends with “Thank you for your service.” Furthering that conversationbetween civilians and military veterans is the true challenge. Noted recording artist MARCUS GOLDHABER aims to fortify the civilian-veteran dialogue and solve the disconnect with CARRY YOU ON (Krian Music Group/Universal Records), a uniquely compelling collection of story-based songs created to open new windows into the everyday lives of veterans and their families. Set for Veterans Day Weekend release (Nov. 10), CARRY YOU ON is the culmination of Goldhaber’s ongoing mission to #BridgeTheGap between civilians and military veterans through the power of music. The first single, “Song for Peace,” is due Oct. 11.  Known for his vivid songwriting and intimate approach to the American Songbook, Goldhaber makes a bold departure from his jazz roots and charges beyond stars-and-stripes patriotismto achieve a greater conversation of nuance and individuality. With music as his vehicle to drive the conversation, Goldhaber blends a variety of styles and special narratives that summon the timeless sensibilities of classic singer-songwriters, from James Taylor to the Lumineers. All original lyrics on CARRY YOU ON were inspired by conversations Goldhaber has had with civilians, active-duty service members, veterans and their families during a five-year journey that began with one like-minded song, the anthemic “Come Home America,” which has been newly arranged for CARRY YOU ON.

ProgStock; North America's New International Progressive Rock Festival !

The Story of ProgStock October 13-15, 2017 in Rahway, NJ Music is not only the universal language, it also has no boundaries. "ProgStock" is an international festival that is founded on the principle of supporting artist families, the music they produce and the fans that follow the genre. This three-day festival was founded to solve a few positive problems. First, even though a handful of fun Prog gatherings exist around the globe, artists are eager to play in the Northeast United States during the autumn months, where and when not much else in Prog circles takes place. Second, we know that Prog fans are seeking a comfortable, classy venue to see their favorite bands perform. Add in a great host town that’s close to a huge airport and regional rail transportation , and that’s most of ProgStock’s story. The only thing we need for this to be complete? You! And with you, there will be much rejoicing at North America’s New International Progressive Rock Festival, which is ProgStock.ProgStock’s main stage will feature music that most radio hosts would find to be too long and too complex to play on-the-air. Dancing in 7/8, indeed, is left to fans who are accustomed to calculating high math in their heads. It’s easy to assume — because even the massive force of Apple Music doesn’t feature a decent Prog option — that the genre is dead. Alas, the Internet is largely credited for bringing together Prog’s most loyal and growing fandom. Saturday night headliner for ProgStock 2017! The Dave Kerzner Band performing with some very special guests! http://www.progstock.com/2017/

Thommy Price , being a Blackhearts & Drummer Extraordinaire!

Thomas Price was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. By the tender age of 16, he had already hit the road playing drums in rock bands  and he hasn't stopped since. Schooled on "early blue eyed soul" like The Dave Clarke 5 and The Young Rascals, he found his chops playing along with his older brother's 45's of drum heavy songs like "Bits and Pieces" and "Glad All Over" (the latter of which he now covers in his own new band . He has spent his life on the road and in the studio, and along the way has become one of the most well known and highly sought after skin bashers in the business. His style is unique in that he has a sound completely his own, and his talent is impossible to overlook, but he stays solid and in the pocket without the flash and distractions of most well known drummers. He can provide the fireworks without losing his place as the most rock solid backbone around. For this reason his list of credits is almost endless. The band Price-Sulton, released a full-length album on CBS Records called Lights On. Price-Sulton also had a song featured in a movie starring Susanna Hoffs called The All-Nighter. This project was the first time Thommy stepped up to the front of the stage, playing guitar and singing his original songs. Thommy Price has been a Blackheart. "In the beginning I was just playing on Joan's records, but I wasn't really in the band. Kenny Laguna would call me all the time and say 'Are you ready yet?' At the time I was in Mink DeVille and touring all over Europe for months at a time. "Besides being a Blackheart, Thommy continues to write and produce with others.  In his latest side project "Downtown Phantom" Thommy has  reunited with old friend and bandmate Johnny Rao and Joey Vasta.

Honey West , New debut CD "Bad Old World."

A British rock giant and an acclaimed and respected member of New York's acting community walk into a recording studio ... and produce one of 2017's strongest and most compelling albums. This odd couple consists of multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald, a founding member of both King Crimson and Foreigner, and guitarist and lead vocalist Ted Zurkowski, co-founder of New York's celebrated Shakespeare ensemble, Frog & Peach, and a long-time member of the world-famous Actors Studio. Together, this unlikely new songwriting team conjured the album Bad Old World under the banner of their quartet, HONEY WEST. Bad Old World is filled with memorable melodies and clever and sophisticated lyrics served on a bed of guitar-driven rock 'n' roll played by top-shelf musicians, including drummer Steve Holley, whose credits include Paul McCartney & Wings and many others, and McDonald's son, Maxwell McDonald, on bass. The album also boasts a guest appearance by Graham Maby (Joe Jackson, They Might Be Giants) on bass ("Brand New Car," "California," "A Girl Called Life"). While it's a modern sound stamped by Ian McDonald's world-class musicianship and production, it also bears an instant familiarity, thanks to a sonic blueprint recalling such Brit-rock titans as The Move and Mott the Hoople. HONEY WEST - named in honor and celebration of the proto-feminist 1960s cult TV spy series starring the ever-alluring Anne Francis - was already up and running when the two came together. For McDonald, discovering the scope and breadth of Zurkowski's talents was the catalyst for wanting to create a musical partnership. Paul Trynka; New Book Brian Jones , The Making of The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones’ rise to fame is one of rock ‘n’ roll’s epic stories. Yet one crucial part of that story has never been fully told: the role of Brian Jones, the visionary who founded the band and meticulously controlled their early sound, only to be dethroned by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Tormented by paranoia and drug problems, Jones drowned at the age of twenty-seven. Drawing on new information and interviews with Richards, Andrew Oldham, and Marianne Faithfull, among dozens of others, Brian Jones lays bare the Rolling Stones’ full story, in all its glory and squalor.Paul Trynka is a respected music writer known both for his groundbreaking role as editor of MOJO magazine and as author of Starman and Open Up and Bleed, biographies of David Bowie and Iggy Pop, respectively, which attracted laudatory reviews worldwide. Portrait of the Blues, his collection of oral histories with more than sixty blues musicians (in collaboration with photographer Val Wilmer), is regarded as a landmark work. Paul was also editor of the widely respected International Musician magazine and founding editor of the Guitar Magazine, for which he first interviewed Keith Richards more than twenty years ago. Paul lives with his wife, Lucy, and son, Curtis, in Greenwich, London, just down the road from Mick and Keith’s old stomping ground of Dartford.
