Red Velvet Media Talks to Alonzo Anderson and we talk about Stepsisters the Movie!
Written and produced by Alonzo Anderson of Macon, GA.
We will be talking to Alonzo and a few cast members of the film and there thoughts on the Movie!
StepSisters* chronicles the lives of female best friends as they move to a new
phase in their lives while trying to hold on to their friendship amidst the temptations and traditions that await
them at a prestigious fictional historical black college. Utilizing the popular and long-established art form of
stepping and sororities as the backdrop StepSisters* portrays themes of friendships, betrayal, redemption, racial
loyalty and sisterhood with a contemporary twist.
Written and produced by Alonzo Anderson of Macon, GA StepSisters* explores the mores and practices of
African American colleges and Greek organizations versus the non-traditional non African-Americans
maneuvering in that world. Penned by Anderson in 2008, this film comes at an opportune time to highlight
the division that can occur between the sisterhood, evidenced by the recent controversial win of the Sprite Step
Off by the Zeta Tau Alpha, an all white step team from the University of Arkansas. Additionally, the film will
explore campus life and romantic relationships between the races. This film will make you understand the
divisions but root for its healing
