Holly Stephey And Cutting Edge Music...
With the success of “D.C. Shuffle” the three members decided to form a band and release a follow up album containing a mixture of fun political rock songs and rock ballads. The album eventually was called “Humongously Yours” & it exploded at college & commercial radio stations in the U.S., international markets & internet radio stations around the world. While the album, “Humongously Yours” received college radio play for over a year, the first single to pop onto the commercial radio charts in the U.S. was the ballad, “Without You”, which flew up the charts to Number 20 in the U.S. “It’s Time”, “Judas of D.C.”, and “Abuse of Power” has some success on the rock charts, but big hit from the album was “Love Police”, which hit Number 19 in February and never left the top 20 for a year. Originally, Thunder Quest Records released the original version of “Love Police” to radio, but kept following up with various dance versions that kept it charting and the fans all over the U.S. loved it.
As ‘Love Police” kept charting, something even crazier happened with the single “WITHOUT YOU”. It had been 1 and ½ years since “Without You” left the charts, & a syndicated college radio program began to play the single & eventually over 100 college radio stations were playing it. To the surprise of everyone at Thunder Quest Records & of course, Cutting Edge, “Without You” charted a second time at commercial radio eventually hitting number 16, even higher than before. No one could remember an “indie” band having this happen at commercial radio stations.
