Leigh founded the Southeastern Film Festival in 2013, second year in progress, we have over 1300 submissions from 44 countries. She believes in supporting independent film, so she offered a 30 day free entry period. In that time, she received over 40 films from countries that were under sanctions, like North Korea and Iran, where filmmakers don't have credit cards and can't enter festivals to promote their work. The first event this year took place in Dahlonega, Georgia and we screened 45 films from 24 countries over a long weekend, our next event will be in Nashville in November of 2015. Stewart is also an author whose work extends from poetry, to fiction and non-fiction novels, as well as screenwriting.
